Message I would skip an NA too to be honest. Even harder to find properly maintained NA's these days.

At your age not only are you going to have a lot more things "pulling" on your funds soon (and you should, college years are the time you should be having a good time, not pissing time/$ away stressing over a car's upkeep), but you are going to have a lot more things pulling at your time and attention.

I've read many posts over the years of students who simply didnt want to deal with the car anymore. They got into it with the best of intentions to fix it up right or maintain its condition, but college simply doesnt allow for it.

If you insist on something reasonably "cool", as opposed to something just to get you around, I would think a 95-98 240SX would be a good choice. But I'd recommend just getting a beater for 4 yrs, once you have finished school, you'll be set for what you really want.

I had a good friend from growing up who drove a 200k+ mile Isuzu pickup all thru college, no payments, almost zero maintenance, no worries if it got dinged up, hailed on, whatever. He graduates with an engineering degree get a job right in town working on the Charleston Harbor bridge, and is still living in an apartment. Suddenly he has loads of extra income and just about zero expenses. He bought a 2 yr old Corvette, got bored with it and traded it in during a service for a Viper GTS sitting out on the lot.

IMO this is a better route. Unless your family is rich and will just throw as much money your way as necessaryto be able to pay others to fool with it when the time comes.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of "liberalism", they will adopt every principle of our socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without ever knowing how it happened.... I no longer need to run on the Socialist Party ticket because the Democrat Party has now adopted our platform."
--Norman Thomas, 1944 Socialist Party Presidential Candidate
